All Sorts gym programs for schools

1All Sorts now offers gym programs for schools as part of their P.E program. The aim is to encourage and promote healthy habits in children from a young age which sets them up before they are adults.

“It’s a great way for children to experience different types of fitness in a non competitive environment.” Jeni Lee – Head of Sport and PDHPE at Claremont College said.

The program will vary weekly with the children partaking in a different class each week.

This week the Year 5’s at Claremont College tried out our spin class with All Sorts instructor Mia guiding them through a virtual bike ride. The children are able to go at their own level and pace without the competitiveness.7

“This is a great way for the children to explore and enjoy fitness without feeling pressured to compete with others. The novelty of being taken on a virtual bike ride to good music creates this fun environment for them.”

With a variety of fitness options for kids to try at All Sorts, there is something for every child to enjoy outside of the normal compulsory sport programs.

Year 3 students played a game of mixed futsal at All Sorts Indoor Sports and next week will trial a game of basketball while Year 5’s try out our HIIT Power class.

Our newest Yoga & Pilates studio is perfect escape away from the city grind. Classes are fully equipped with mats, bands, barre and mirrors so all you need to bring is yourself!

Instructor of the month – July

Chris is this months instructor of the month!

Chris has been with us from pretty much day 1! Starting as a member 5 years ago after moving into Mascot, Chris soon found a love for fitness and our classes!

1. What led you to get into becoming a fitness trainer
I started off as a member of All Sorts when I moved to Mascot. I came to one of the RPM classes and loved it. Then one class became two and before I knew it I was doing between five and seven classes a week. James the old GFM said that I should think about becoming an instructor. And voila 5 years ago I passed my training and have never looked back. I absolutely love teaching RPM.

2. Outside of the gym, what do you like to do for fun?
I really don’t have much time working outside of work, I suppose you can say I’m a bit of a workaholic. I do enjoy the movies with a box a popcorn every now and then.

3. What is one thing about you that most people don’t know?
I have 22 brothers and sisters – Yikes alright!!

Congratulations Travis for being this months well deserving member of the month. Travis trains hard approximately 4 times per week with his buddy Allan and loves All Sorts staff!

How long have you been a member at All Sorts? I’ve been a Member for just over a year

In 3 ways, describe what All Sorts is to you? All Sorts to me is an environment I use to de-stress. Great staff always willing to help with anything and always met with a smile

What’s your favourite thing about All Sorts? You can’t beat the sauna hot pool/cold pool combo after a hard training session!
